Ladies and Gentlemen, I am so glad to announce a NEW AND IMPROVED AND MUCH LARGER Waterfowl Department that Green Top will feature in our new building this fall. On Tuesday, February 7th, 2012, Bart from our clothing department and myself went to goose hunt a small pond in a cattle pasture that I was fortunate enough to have secured permission to in the northern piedmont. We were taking advantage of the later season for geese that runs until February 15th in the Southern James Bay population zone, where the limit is 5 birds per person this late in the year. 2011-2012 Waterfowl Season

What a Disappointment!!! It had some high-lights, as does every season, and every day that you’re hunting and not working is a great day, but after last year’s great season and the “record” predictions they put forward about populations this year, I think most of Virginia’s hunters walked away from this year feeling let down. 2011 Early Goose

Well this September was my worst one yet. I put more miles on my truck, and more time behind binoculars and knocking on doors than ever before, yet yielded the fewest birds.
