Saltwater- Cobia remain to be the most sought after fish inside the bay these days. Charters and private boaters are hooking up with plenty of both large and small Cobia. Sight fishing has been the most productive, by far. More fish are being caught around the pilings of the CBBT and the marker buoys. Saltwater- Cobia seemed to be off a bit last week. Conditions weren’t ideal the last part of last week. However, this week is already looking better. The forecast is looking good also. Sight casters are faring better, due to the amount of trash fish the chummers have to deal with. Schools of Red Drum are being found along the oceanfront and the ocean side of the bay bridge-tunnel. Saltwater- The water in the bay has been a little murky this week, making things a little harder for spotting fish. Cobia catches have been slightly down, but heavy fish are still being boated by persistent anglers. Those chumming are holding their own, but catches were still a little off this week. Saltwater- Cobia action remains very strong in the bay. Anglers are having great luck sight casting and chumming throughout the bay, from the CBBT to Smith Point. Eels are good for both sight casting and chumming. Flounder fishing seems to be hit and miss, with excellent catches occurring one day and hardly any bites the next.
