Saltwater- Cobia catches continue to improve throughout the bay. The Cobia interest is probably the greatest interest in bay fishing right now. The rougher days make it hard for the sight casters, but chumming under these conditions will often bring nice fish to the boat. Using plenty of chum is a big part of success. Saltwater- Cobia action continues to heat up inside the bay. Water temps inside the bay are at 73 degrees this week. Sight casters have been enjoying good weather conditions over the last few days, resulting in many 40 – 50 lb fish. Chummers are having good luck also. Saltwater- Cobia fishing seems to get better by the day. More reports of these fish are coming from within the bay. Ellerson Disharoon of Richmond reported Cobia up to 37 inches from Wolftrap Light. Capt. Josh Saunders has been busy chasing down the Cobia for clients, yielding fish up to 67 lbs this week. Anglers fishing from Buckroe Pier have had great luck on the Cobia as well. Saltwater- The Cobia bite is increasing rapidly, which is perfect for the opening of the season on June 1. Many catches are occurring along the oceanfront and at the mouth of the bay. Fish up to 65 inches have been reported this week. Another hot bite is the Red Drum bite. Loads of these brutes are being caught in many of the same places as the Cobia.
